Gisele Thompson scored the first goal of her professional career, and it was assisted by none other than her big sister Alyssa.
The goal came in the 22nd minute of Angel City's clash with the Washington Spirit Friday night, giving the Thompson sisters' side a 2-0 lead. Older sister Alyssa broke through on the left-hand side and fired a cross into the box, and that cross was met by a flick from Gisele.
As the ball hit the back of the net, the 19-year-old fullback ran to celebrate with her older sibling as they became the first sisters in NWSL history to combine for a goal.
Gisele Thompson went on to provide an assist of her own in the second half, helping Angel City earn a 4-2 win.

Older sister Alyssa was the first pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft and quickly rose with both the club and the U.S. women's national team, earning a place on the 2023 World Cup squad. Her younger sister signed with Angel City ahead of the 2024 season, and both have been in the USWNT picture in recent months under Emma Hayes.
In February, they became the second set of sisters to see the field together for the USWNT, joining Sam and Kristie Mewis.
