According to , Bayern Munich have withdrawn their offer to extend the contract of midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The report suggests FCB are said to have informed Kimmich at the beginning of the week that the previous offer to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season, is no longer valid.

That means that clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City will be free to enter in talks for a pre-contractual agreement with Kimmich, who could join his new team as a free agent.

The decision to withdraw the offer is said to have been made at the FCB supervisory board meeting on Monday, where it was also apparently decided that no improved offer would be presented to Kimmich.

BILD's report further states that Bayern's management cannot understand why the 30-year-old has been hesitating for so long with his signature.

Bayern had already distanced themselves from their original plan to reduce Kimmich's salary in the event of a new contract due to his strong performances this season. Instead, the German international would have been set to earn a little more than the €20 million per year he currently earns if he had accepted Bayern's latest offer.

Whether Kimmich – who recently seemed willing to be extending his contract – will continue to be tied to the German record champions now seems extremely questionable.

Nevertheless, according to , the withdrawn offer does not mean Bayern have pulled out of talks altogether. Rather, both parties are still in talks – but the conditions that were last offered are no longer on the table.

Bayern are demanding that Kimmich make a fundamental decision as to whether he still sees himself at the Allianz Arena or not.

If they cannot agree on a common denominator, the Rottweil-born player could leave Die Roten on a free transfer in the summer. Kimmich is said to have offers from top international clubs, including Manchester City and Barcelona, who are said to be interested in the player.
