Just days after making his Serie A debut in a shock 2-1 defeat against Cremonese, the €39 million (£34m/$46m) signing collided with team-mate Santiago Gimenez during a training session. Upon further examination, Milan confirmed that the 23-year-old had sustained a compound fracture on the right fibula, with expected recovery and rehab timelines set for around two months.

WHAT GRANIT XHAKA SAID

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Xhaka said: "I told him: 'Your time will come.' Ardon has a great future ahead of him, and with his move to Milan, he's shown he can play for a great team. It's a shame about the injury, but he's quite strong mentally and will definitely come back even stronger."

It is expected that Jashari will be cleared to return to light training somewhere around early November.
